For over 45 years Alan has worked directly with professional Cinema imaging,
display monitoring, audio equipment and related technologies used in the production
of theatrical release features, episodic television, commercial and special
venue productions. Over the past 25 years he has held the position of Senior
Executive Vice President at Clairmont Camera until joining Claim Specialists
International in 2017.
His experience includes the repair, maintenance and modification of professional
film and state of the art digital cinema camera and lens systems along with
other related equipment. This includes the concept, design and/or development
of cutting edge technologies and enhancements to existing products, often
working closely with Directors, Producers, Directors of Photography and
other Production team members.
The broad scope of his experience also encompasses direct involvement with
machine shop manufacturing and general prototype fabrication methods,
including overseeing Research and Development while at Clairmont Camera and
Clairmont Machine Works.
In addition to being a guest lecturer at UCLA Extension Post Production Studies,
he has also taught camera crews the operation, trouble shooting and conducting
of field repairs for this highly specialized production equipment.
With an extensive familiarity in Physical and Post Production, along with
the aforementioned, Alan is equally at home with issues involving Remote
Gyro Stabilized camera heads, lighting and grip or image anomalies on the screen.
Building on his prior experience as a professional studio recording engineer
and film location sound recordist, coupled with his practical knowledge of
live venue concert sound reinforcement, stage lighting and large screen LED
Video Display systems, through CSI Alan has been a key figure in evaluating
a number of damage claims involving mixed equipment of this nature.
Often these claims can be extensive and complex.
As a long time musician, he is also familiar with common and rare musical instruments.
Alan is one of the most respected professionals in his field and is well known
in the entertainment industry.
